Karlis Ozolins-Emils Mednis Trust Fund
Karlis Ozolins-Emils Mednis Trust Fund
The Karlis Ozolins-Emils Mednis trust fund (2000) was founded in the United States at the initiative of a Latvian doctor Hermine Mednis (1905–2003), honoring her brother and husband.
H. Mednis (b. Ozolins) created a trust fund for donations and charitable purposes, especially in Latvia. She chose her cousin Mary Davis, who lives on the Detroit side in Michigan, as trust fund administrator.
Hermine (born on August 8, 1905) and Karlis (July 12, 1900 – July 26, 1986) Ozolini were born in Liezere, Latvia. Emils Mednis (December 4, 1898 – August 4, 1978) was born in Jaunpiebalga parish. Both families fled to the United States. Hermine and Emils Mednis got married in 1956.
Hermine Mednis passed away on December 29, 2003.
Ozolins and Mednis families contribution helps in strengthening a better Latvia even today.
